About Me
I'm Juliette Pasquini, a twenty-something-year-old who sometimes creates art and is always having a quarter-life crisis. I graduated from the University of Maryland in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Cinema and Media Studies, which basically just means I overanalyze movies and people. I'm excited by any opportunity to learn more and am constantly looking for new inspiration. I am interested in content creation and the arts, and hope to have a career sharing my love of art and media with others through design.
I love the process involved in art and graphic design—the act of mixing paint to form new colors or choosing the perfect color scheme, composing elements within an empty space, teasing out the lines of a story told visually. Each creative project is an experiment that I lose myself in. I always half-jokingly say I would love to be a life-long college student because I'm always eager to find new ways to challenge myself and to learn more about almost any subject.
Much of my design experience is advertising and public relations based. Throughout the last half of my college career, I was the Advertising Director for Student Entertainment Events (SEE) at the University of Maryland, responsible for designing advertising materials to promote on-campus events like comedy shows and concerts. I've also served as a social media intern at both PROFILES PR and Island Flowers shop, mixing my graphic design experience with analytical, data-driven strategy. At the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in DC, I worked as a history intern, assisting in the curation of an upcoming exhibition.
Currently, I am working as a marketing assistant at HarperCollins 360, helping promote books from all over the world in the US. Day-to-day, I juggle tasks for almost all aspects of the publishing process, from marketing and publicity to operations and administrative work. Additionally, I started a bookstagram account with two friends called @sundaereads where we gush about our shared love of books and run a podcast where we talk about all the latest media we love (or hate).
When I'm not working or designing a new piece, I enjoy hiking in the woods and becoming one with the trees, singing along to musical show tunes in an off-key voice, watching hockey games (let's go Caps!), raving about a movie I just saw, trying (and failing) to bake, or going on a hunt for some great food to eat (send all of your raving restaurant reviews my way). My main aspirations outside my career are to become better at cooking, go hiking more, own enough books to say I have a mini-library, have at least one wall in my house that is painted yellow, find out if time travel and parallel universes exist, and discover the meaning of life. You know, simple goals.
